 January 14 – Minister of Internal Affairs of the Azerbaijan Republic Colonel-General Ramil Usubov received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic Vitezslav Pivonka.

The Minister gave detailed information on functions and areas of activities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs as well as on the criminal situation in the country. Mr. Usubov voiced hope that the political will and mutual visits of the Heads of both states as well as joint declarations on strategic partnership signed last year will propel relations between our countries to a totally new level, and mentioned that relations between relevant entities of both countries were established by the agency of the Baku Office of OSCE.

 It was noted that according to the Protocol on Assistance to the Private Corps and Junior Command Personnel Training School named after A.Heydarov signed between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the above mentioned institution in June of 2003, a number of construction and repair works were carried out in the above mentioned school and its teachers visited the Czech Republic at various times for the purpose of exchange of best practices and advanced training.

The Minister noted that there are favorable opportunities for the further extension of relations and reminded that an agreement for cooperation between the Ministries of Internal Affairs of two states has been prepared for this purpose and submitted to the other party.

Having expressed gratitude for hearty reception and detailed information, Ambassador Vitezslav Pivonka noted that he will exert every effort for further extension of the relations between our countries.
