The delegation led by the Commander-in-chief of Gendarme Forces of the Republic of Turkey, the army general Galip Mendi has been in official visit to our country on May 3 by the invitation of the Minister of Internal Affairs, colonel-general Ramil Usubov.
On May 4, in the morning, Mr. Galip Mendi and the persons accompanying him went to the Honorary Avenue and placed a wreath on the grave of the national leadet olf our people Heydar Aliyev, remembered the memory of the great leader. They also placed fresh flowers on the grave of the eminent scientist ophthalmologist, academician Mrs. Zarifa Aliyeva.
Then, the representatives of the brother country have visited the “Ever Torch” complex built in the Marters’ Avenue for the honor of brave fighters who sacrificed their lives for the independence and territorial integrity of our republic, the Brotherhood Grave of military servants of Internal Troops who were martyred, as well as the graves of Turkish soldiers.

On the same day, the Minister of Internal Affairs, colonel-general Ramil Usubov has received the delegation led by the army general Galip Mendi.
The minister greeting the visitors cordially reminded that the relations of Azerbaijan with Turkey were developed in raising line after having got its independence, the relationsips among our friend and borther countries made a step towards new stage in the result of political will and mutual vists of the heads of states.
Mr. Ramil Usubov specially stressing that the ministry represented by him gives great importance to further developing the relations with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of brother Turkey, as well as with Gendarme Command, the Armed Forces of Turkey, as well as The Gendarme Command has great labor in army building, formation of Internal Troops, turning to the armed union meeting the most modern requirements, in increasing the professionalism of the personnel and expressed gratitude for that.

Then, he gave detailed information about the existing criminogenic situation, the challenges faced in the first years of independence, violation of our territorial integrity in the result of aggressive policy of Armenia, occupation of our lands, over 1 million refugees who left their native places, intense social and political processes happening in our country. It was noted that after return of great leader Heydar Aliyev to the power by the persistent demands of our people, in the result of decisive measures taken in all fields of the social life, as well as combating crime, provision of public order and public security, the stability and peace was reinstated in  Azerbaijan and criminogenic situation was taken under control. It was stated that today, one of the main factors conditioning the rapid development of our country under the leadership of the President of Azerbaijan Republic Mr. Ilham Aliyev for recent years – firm stability  was established.
Mr. Ramil Usubov touching the problems stressed that combating grave kinds of transnational organized crime such as international terrorism, illegal turnover of drugs, trafficking in human beings and illegal migration is in the center of attention in our country, and the possibility of combating them only by efficient joint efforts.
The minister expressed his assuarance that the visit of Commander-in-chief of Gendarme Forces of Turkey to our country will make positive effect to development tof our relations and further deepening of it.

The army general Galip Mendi expressing his gratitude for cordial reception and detailed information stressed that he visited to Azerbaijan for the first time and he stated that he was satisfied that Baku is one of the most beautiful capital cities and our country is developing dynamically.
The Commander-in-chief of the Gendarme Forces has estimated the useful cooperation between the relevant authorities of both countries highly, and stressed that as "one nation, two states", Turkey will always stand by Azerbaijan, they are proud of strengening of its army, Internal Troops, they will not refuse their efforts for development of them after this, the cooperation and exchange of experience serves to the interests of our brother people.
A number of other issues were also discussed in the meeting held in the condition of friendship and kindness.   
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey in our country has also taken part in the reception.
