The Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic, colonel-general Ramil Usubov has received the delegation led by Mohammad Khanif Atmar, the secretary of the Security Council of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan on May 30.
The minister greeting the visitors cordially delivered to the attention that the relations between the peoples sharing joint historic values and traditions are developed in raising line in accordance with the political will of the heads of states and stated his assurance that this visit will further expand the cooperation.

Then, Ramil Usubov gave a brief information on the functional duties and activity directions of the MIA, social and political situation existing in the country in the first years of independence. It was noted that only after return of the national leader Heydar Aliyev by the demand of the people, by the decisive measures taken under his leadership, major reforms were implemented in all fields, stability and peace was reinstated, the operative condition was taken under control. Consequently, fertile conditions were created for flow of the foreign investment to our country.
The minister stressing the importance of building direct relations between the ministries of internal affairs of both countries, reminded that the “draft treaty on cooperation in the field of security" was developed and sent to the opposite party, stated that the authority led by him is interested in development of bilateral relations.

it was also noted that Azerbaijan is one of the main partners of Afghanistan in security issues and it contributes to provision of security in this country as a member of the antiterror coalition.       
The Minister of Internal Affairs while touching the problems, delivered to the attention that international terrorism, illegal turnover of drugs, trafficking in human beings and illegal migration being one of the main types of transnational organized crime stand in the center of attention, it is possible to combat such types of crimes only through joint efforts.

Mohammad Khanif Atmar expressing his gratitude for cordial reception and detailed information   noted the special role of the President of Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev in union of Islamic Republicsand by congratulating Mr. Ramil Usubov for successes obtained in the protection of the internal stability in our country, stressed the difficulty of obtaining such achievements as a person who worked as the Minister of Internal Affairs.
The secretary of the Security Council stating that Islamic Republic of Afghanistan will always be loyal to solidarity with Azerbaijan confirmed the possibility of implementation of combating transnational organized crime only within the framework of regional and global cooperation. At the same time, it was noted that relevant tasks will be assigned for signing of above mentioned draft treaty.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Azerbaijan Republic Mr. Mohammad Tagi Khalili also took part in the meeting.
