Next, the Minister shared information on the current criminal situation, the challenges our country faced in the first years of its independence including the occupation of our territories in the result of Armenian aggression. It was emphasized that under the guidance of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, who returned to power at request of the people, intensive and effective reforms were implemented in the result of which success was achieved the field of crime prevention and public order and stability maintenance.
The Minister told on the reforms carried out in all spheres of public life including the internal affairs agencies and emphasized widespread use of state-of-the-art information technology, especially capabilities of the Safe City Service and 102 Services Call Center of MIA.

Having mentioned the positive effect of coordinated activities of the Ministries of Internal Affairs in the Republic of Azerbaijan and Russian Federation on crime prevention and maintenance of public security in both countries, the Minister noted with satisfaction the positive results achieved in the effective bilateral relations maintained in various areas of the effective cooperation in recent years, especially in prevention of organized crime including terrorism, illegal drug trafficking, illegal migration, trafficking in human beings, as well as in crime detection, detention of wanted persons and their extradition, joint coordinated measures in the border regions, and training of skilled personnel.

Ambassador Mikhail Bocharnikov expressed his gratitude for hearty reception and detailed information, and satisfaction with the state of bilateral cooperation between the Ministries of Internal Affairs of two states.
He also noted that this meeting serves as evidence of the high level of these bilateral relations and emphasized that he would make every possible effort to further extend the cooperation in all spheres.
The parties also discussed other matters of concern during the meeting.
