On the 30th of August, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Colonel General Ramil Usubov received Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Georgia Giorgi Gakharia who arrived to our country on a visit on the delegation of Georgia headed by Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze.
During the meeting held in a sincere and businesslike atmosphere, the Ministers mentioned the ancient history of friendly relations between our peoples, successful development of bilateral relations including the relations between the Ministries of Internal Affairs, in accordance with the political will of the heads of two states, and noted that such meetings would promoted further improvement of the cooperation.

The Ministers shared their opinions on the criminal situation in their countries and emphasized with satisfaction that the cooperation between the relevant authorities of our states, especially interaction in the field of combating international terrorism, transnational organized crime, illegal drug trafficking, trafficking in human beings and illegal migration, exchange of experience and information, as well as the legal framework established serve the interests of our countries which are close friends and strategic partners and the purpose of maintaining of security in the region.

Having expressed his gratitude for hospitality and detailed information to Minister Ramil Usubov, Mr. Giorgi Gakharia noted that he pays great attention to the development of bilateral relations with our country and emphasized that he would exercise best efforts for this purpose. The parties also discussed a number of other matters of interest during the meeting.
